The product
The challenge.
MyServ is an Austrian marketplace where customers browse and compare service providers. Category and location give people a practical starting point within a broad range of services.
This design scope is focused: search, listing cards, interaction states and an Instant Booking label. Payment and subscription functions appear in the wider brief, beyond the listing interface covered here.
The journey at a glance
- Choose a service category
- Search by location
- Browse relevant provider listings
- Compare the information on each card
- Check the indicated booking route
Design approach
How the design works.
Start with the service and its location
Category and location controls organise the initial search. Together, they turn a general need for help into a set of relevant provider listings.
The category range includes everyday help and construction. The same discovery structure accommodates these different services while keeping the starting task consistent.
Use a consistent structure for comparison
Listing cards group an image, name, category, location and price. Their repeated structure places the same information in the same position across results.
Default and hover versions define the transition from scanning a card to selecting it. The design addresses both the information shown and the signal that the listing is interactive.
Identify the booking route on the card
An Instant Booking label sits within the listing design. It introduces the booking route before someone opens the full listing.
The label is a specific piece of discovery information, alongside price and location. Its wording sets an expectation about what the next step offers.
Reflection
The design takeaway.
Next, check whether customers comparing two providers interpret the displayed price and booking label as intended before opening a listing.
