The product

The challenge.

Aqtive connects people with fitness classes, sports sessions and facilities. Participants need the right place and time; hosts need accurate session details and availability.

The work spans customer booking proposals, host listing flows and an implementation review. Together, these address choosing an activity, setting it up and returning to the details after booking.

The journey at a glance

  1. Discover an activity
  2. Check the session details
  3. Choose a time
  4. Book a place
  5. Return to the booking summary

Design approach

How the design works.

  1. Make a booked session easy to recognise

The customer proposal separates upcoming and past bookings. Ticket-style cards bring together a booking reference, activity type, venue, date, time and a View Summary action.

A return visit has a different purpose from discovery. The card gives someone who has already booked a direct route to the session’s practical details.

  2. Give scheduling a dedicated step

Host setup separates General Information, Session Details, Schedule and an optional Referee step. The Schedule view groups the date range, start and finish times, and custom recurrence.

This places related timing controls together. Hosts can prepare a session’s schedule within the listing flow, alongside the information that defines the activity itself.

  3. Review the actions behind the interface

The implementation review records issues with button click areas, Create and Edit labels, back navigation, checkbox states and deposit validation. It also identifies a custom-recurrence problem.

These findings concern whether an action works and communicates its purpose. They make interaction behaviour part of the design review alongside the appearance of the screen.

Reflection

The design takeaway.

Next, check the reported interaction issues, especially recurrence, and follow a host’s schedule through to the participant’s booking details.
